Who We Are

Paws With Patience is a non-profit volunteer pet therapy group operating in Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. It consists of caring people who volunteer their pets and personal time to visit schools, retirement homes, nursing facilities and hospice programs. The purpose and goal of pet therapy work is sharing special animals to bring a little happiness to people who so desperately need something to hold and love. Visits often bring memories of pets left behind. Occasionally, a withdrawn or very ill person will respond to a therapy animal when no other means of communication has been effective.

Donations are accepted to keep our all-volunteer group going.

Keena is a young shepherd mix who volunteers at Paws with Patience along with her doggie housemates Buster and Tasha. She is bright and friendly and just loves attention! One of the friskier members of Paws with Patience, she is especially good with children and anyone who needs a bit of cheering up.

How You Can Help

Join

Any breed is eligible. Your dog must be sociable and under your control at all times, and be able to remain on leash during an entire therapy visit. Your dog also needs to be up to date on all vaccinations, with a veterinary record on file with us. Your dog will need to become certified to go on visits. Please see our Join page for more information and all requirements.

Certify Your Dog

We offer certification through Therapy Dogs Incorporated. The certification process has specific steps, but it is worth the effort and both you and your dog will get so many benefits from the program!

Let us Come Visit You!

Are you a relative of a home resident? Check to see if we visit your loved one's home on our list at right and when on our Calendar. Contact us and we'll make sure one of our therapy dogs stops by to see him or her on our next visit. We also love to visit schools, hospice facilities, and assisted living. If your program is not on our list, please let us know and we'll try to add Paws With Patience to their activities schedule.
